Installing the VS Code Extension

Click this button to download a VSIX file and then install the extension into your IDE. Refer to the CodeTogether for VS Code Installation Guide for details.

Requires VS Code 1.44 or higher to host or join

Getting Started in VS Code

After adding CodeTogether to your IDE, you can start collaborating in seconds.

1. Click Host New Session from the CodeTogether view or use the CodeTogether: Start Hosting Session command.
2. Select access privileges for your teammates and click Start Session.
3. The Invite URL is automatically copied to the clipboard when the session is started. If you need the URL later, click Invite others from the CodeTogether view  or use the CodeTogether: Copy Invite URL command.
4. Share the Invite URL with teammates.

Installing the IntelliJ Plugin

Click this button to download a ZIP file and then install the plugin into your IntelliJ-based IDE. Refer to the CodeTogether for JetBrains IDEs Installation Guide for details.

Requires IntelliJ 2019.1 or higher to host Requires IntelliJ 2019.2 or higher to join *Rider not currently supported

Getting Started in IntelliJ

After adding CodeTogether to your IDE, you can start collaborating in seconds.

1. Click Host New Session from the CodeTogether view or use the CodeTogether: Start Hosting Session action.
2. Select access privileges for your teammates and click Start.
3. Select Invite others from the CodeTogether view to copy the session URL to the clipboard.
4. Share the Invite URL with teammates.

Installing the Eclipse Plugin

If you have the Marketplace Client installed, simply drag this button to your running workspace.

Requires: Eclipse 4.6 (Neon) or higher

2. Select access privileges for teammates that will join the session and click Start.
3. Select Invite others from the CodeTogether view to copy the session URL to the clipboard.
